Book Review: The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama

I hope you go out and buy a copy, it’s worth every penny. You can’t put a price in knowledge, and Barack Obama is a pretty smart man.

The Audacity of Hope was any bit as good as I thought it would be. Barack Obama writes his theories in a smart and intellectual fashion as his proceeding novel “Dreams From my Father.” This book, if read by everyone, Republican or Democrat would open up a lot of eyes and maybe gets the ball rolling.

As far as being a Republican I was a little insulted by some of his choice words and stories about his colleagues and the other members of the senate. He’s a Democrat, so he’s not going to play nice with the rival party. Just as Republicans do in their own books.

This book did make me think, though. About government priorities and the lack of attention towards education and health care. But it just made me rethink my own ideas and solutions towards similar issues. Barack Obama writes in his book the same ideas that have made up the new Democratic Party. Their just being spoken from a new voice, and expressed on a new face, and signed by a new name. But be that as it may, I would still highly recommend this book to Republicans. Hearing the other side’s ideas can help reform your own.

I also admire his vocabulary (which so obviously dwarfs my own) his choice of big-boy words makes the average person think the writer’s a genius. It’s an old trick, but it was nice to notice. Keep a dictionary on standby while reading his books. My total rating, a ten-out-of-ten. I told my friends and family, “It was fascinating beyond rational thought.” And, “It’ll really get you thinking in new ways.” I hope you go out and buy a copy, it’s worth every penny. You can’t put a price in knowledge, and Barack Obama is a pretty smart man.
