Adeline Yen Mah- The main character of the story. She gets abused, deprived, and not cared for as she grows older and lives with her father and stepmother, Niang.

Big Sister- Is Adelines big sister and is mean to Adeline aswell.

Brothers- The three brothers of Adeline are a lot better than the sister but still are mean and abusive to Adeline.

Niang- Is the cause of all the abuse, neglect, emotional pain, deprivation and rejection. She is a stylish and glamorous French-Chinese woman, but is the opposite on the inside.

Father- Has a kind heart, but enjoys Niangs company and love more than his children, so he turns wicked against them too, and even forgets Adelines real name.

Ye Ye- The Grandfather of Adeline. Is very kind but relies financially upon Father so he cannot rebel against him.

Nai Nai- Is the Grandmother of Adeline. Is also very kind and in the same state as Ye Ye. She always complains about her binded feet and dies early with a stroke.

Aunt Baba- Is Adelines favourite person in the world, and Aunt Baba tries to stand up for her, but also is in the same financial state as Ye Ye and Nai Nai. She always compliments Adeline for getting an award etc unlike all the others.

Summary

Chinese Cinderella is a moving autobiography written my Adeline Yen Mah. She writes the book so that everyone can understand it, and can fell all her emotions that she pushed into her book. It is a great read and I would recomend it to anyone.
