The corporate world is said to be like a jungle. It would mold you to become an efficient person who is capable to lead others to success. It is said that trials are the stepping stones to success.
I am a Management graduate of Chiang Kai Shek College. And, I have experiences working with few Chinese establishments in Chinese community. It is commonly said that the organization or corporate world is like a jungle, and experience is still the best teacher. A best teacher that can mold you to be the best person you want to be.
The book, 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, caught my attention and explained broadly about the corporate world. As a Management graduate, I am willing to learn and to grasp any information coming from this book. I thought it is the best way if I have few good books to read like this book in order to plan my career.
The book is written by John C. Maxwell, the founder of INJOY. It is an organization that equip the leaders to maximize their potentials in personal and leadership skills.
Summary:
Leadership is something related to personal skills and relational skills. Without these skills, you cannot be able to lead others. John C. Maxwell focused his teaching in the potential and character of the person who is able to lead others and willing to pay the price to achieve success.
A good leader has his own principles. He is able to stand on his ground and never compromise for anything. And, he is prepared for anything unexpected. He has strong self-motivation and high self-esteem.
The best leader is able to raise up other leader. His potentials determines how he related with his followers. His characters also determines how he can attract followers. If he has a vision, then the team has a direction.
A leader knows the timing when to act and how to act. He must be patience and a good listener. He always listen to the good advices.
To create a legacy is important to the leader because it determines his organization’s capability. It will give mark to his name to remembered.
Conclusion:
A person working in an organization has a potential to become a leader if he is given a chance to developed his potentials through a good training and motivation. However, he must be a learner. He must not stop learning. He should do his best to develop his potentials by equipping himself with enough learning tools.
