Choice of title

Shortly after pondering a bit, Rowling said she had considered three possible starters for the book. The December 21, 2006, Rowling revealed the title through the end of a “ hung ”themed Christmas on their official website and was confirmed by the publisher shortly thereafter. When asked about the other two titles dropped, Rowling mentioned Harry Potter and the Elder Wand and Harry Potter and the Peverell Quest - Harry Potter and the Elder Wand and Harry Potter and the pursuit of Peverell , respectively.

Completion of the book

Rowling completed the book while staying at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh , in January 2007 and left a mark on a marble bust of Hermes in her room which read: “JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on January 11th of 2007 . “ In a statement on its Web site, she said, “I never felt this mixture of extreme emotions in my life, never dreamed I could feel her heart broken and euphoric at the same time.” He compared his feelings mixed with those expressed by Charles Dickens in the preface to his 1850 edition of the novel David Copperfield , “an imaginative task two years of which he added, I can only sigh, try seventeen years, Charles .. .. “ He ended his message with “ Deathly Hallows is my favorite and the most wonderful way to end the series. “

When asked about the book coming next, Rowling stated that it could change the ending even if it wanted to. ”The argument of these books has been written for so long, and six books now, all aimed at a certain direction. So really I can not. “ He also commented that the last volume was associated closely with the previous book in the series “almost like two halves of the same novel.”  He said that the last chapter of the book was written “about 1990″ as part of a job very preliminary in the series.

Leaks

In the book Getting information requested content who’s latest book, do not disclose, in order to avoid spoiling the experience for other readers.  To this end, Bloomsbury invested 10 million pounds in an attempt to keep the contents of the books insurance until July 21 , the date of publication. Arthur Levine, U.S. editor of the series, denied distributing advance copies for press reviews, but two newspapers published criticism of that country in some way.

In the week before the launch, a number of texts claiming to be genuine leaks appeared in various formats. On July 16 , a set of photographs representing all 759 pages of the U.S. edition was leaked on the internet and was fully transcribed before the official publication of the book. The photographs later appeared on websites and networks p2p , leading Scholastic to seek a subpoena in order to identify a source. This represented the most serious security breach in the history of the series. Rowling and her lawyer admitted that there were leaks in line were genuine. The reviews published both in The Baltimore Sun and in The New York Times on July 18 of 2007 corroborated many of the plot elements of the leaks, and one day before publication, The New York Times confirmed that the main filtration circulated was real.

Scholastic announced that approximately 0.01% of U.S. merchandise-about 1,200 copies, had been distributed earlier. A reader in Maryland received a copy of the book by mail from the website deepdiscount.com four days before it was published, prompting incredulous responses from Scholastic and Deepdiscount. Scholastic initially said it had been a “human error” and they would not discuss possible penalties. However, the next day, Scholastic announced that it would initiate legal action against deepdiscount.com and its distributor, Levy Home Entertainment. Some launched earlier books soon appeared in eBay , and even in one case asking for a copy to 250 U.S. dollars when the initial price were 18 of the same coin.

 Controversies

ASDA , as well as other supermarkets in the United Kingdom , agreed to reserve the book at a very discounted. Also, this company also fired a price war by announcing they would sell the book for just GB £ 5 a copy, compared to £ 17.99 GB recommended by the publisher. Other chains also offered the book at discounted prices.

A similar case occurred in Malaysia , where four major bookstore chains in the country decided to withdraw the book from its shelves in protest against the hypermarkets Tesco and Carrefour . The sale price of the book in Malaysia is MYR109.90 ( around GB £ 16), while the aforementioned supermarkets sold them for MYR 69.90, a GB £ 10. This pressure measurement was not the result expected by the libraries, which were then put the book on sale in their establishments.

In Israel there was criticism of the book launch on a Saturday morning for violating the Sabbath . The Minister of Trade and Industry Eli Yishai said that “it is forbidden, according to culture and Jewish values, that a thing like this happen on Saturday at 2 am. Do it another day. “ Yishai said he would issue sanctions based on the Law of hours of work and rest.
