Benjamin Franklin

Josiah and Abiah Franklin had ten children in the married life and the eighth child of this large family went on to be one of the most famous people in the United States history.  His name was Benjamin Franklin and he was born on January 17, 1706.

Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts which at that time had seven thousand people living in its city limits and Boston was founded in 1603.  People in that era always lived in colonies that were near water such as river or oceans.  Many people were depended on making a living for their family on those types of water and Boston was no exception. 

The people of Boston made their living by either being part of ship’s crew or being part of the crew that was on the dock.  Ship came into Boston from either the West Indies or Africa.   This way of life was very profitable for the people of Boston and they would boost about the fact in their own city’s paper named Boston News-Letter.

Benjamin Franklin would go on with his life to discovery many things and to be a person that students in school study for a long time into the future.  He would become one of those types of people that would fascinate people to study because they want to get to know him better.
