Bitter Chocolate: A Book for Parents Who Care
Bitter chocolate is an educational book for all Indian parents which teaches how to protect our children from sexual abuse.
Bitter Chocolate by Pinki Virani investigates and explores the shameful and dirty act of child sexual abuse in India.i just completed reading the book. I have to admit at times it was becoming very painful to read. The stories are so real and the statistics provided with it are so alarming that every parent will get scared. At the same time i will also like to mention that its a must read for all Indian parents. Its an educational book for the parents. This particular reading will teach them how to protect their child from child sexual abuse or what are the symptoms shown by the child when he or she is abused sexually.
Every human being has dark side and bright side within himself.Though we might totally trust our family members or our close ones we never know within whom the monster is hiding that may use a child to fulfill his or her dark desire. This book tells stories about children who have been sexually abused and most of the time they grow up to be adults who are child abusers. No its not possible for the parents to be always with the child sprcially for those who are working. But what we can do is to be alert and stay alert.Communicate with the child every now and then, asking him what he is thinking or what he has done all day, watching out for symptoms that may have been a result of child abuse, watching the child as he communicates with other members of the family.
I am a mother of a two year old boy. This book has made me alert and more attentive towards my son.I am requesting (if i may) all the parents of little prince and princess to read the book and educate themselves about child sexual abuse and get alert. That way we can save our little ones to undergo any bitter experience and watch them bloom with healthy and innocent mind.
