Of Mice and Men was an excellent book!  If you have never read it you need to.  It starts off with George and Lennie (the 2 main characters) ran away from theddre last job on a ranch.  They find a new job on another ranch, and are trying to save up enough money to buy their own land and farm.  Lennie is a little mentally handicap and George is taking care of him.  So they have trouble keeping jobs for a long time.  After a bit at their new ranch they are working on.  Lennie gets in trouble (you have to read to find out what he did) and he ran off, and waited for George to come find him.  Once George finally found him he shot Lennie in the back of the head, but he did it to help Lennie because if he didn’t the other workers would have hurt him badly and left him to die. 

That is the basic summary of the book.  Overall it was good!  This book had a lot of foreshadowing, for example from reading the first couple chapters you knew Lennie was going to get in trouble again.  This book didn’t have a lot of figurative language it was really direct.  You will love reading this book, it will keep you glued to the book!  The author did an amazing job writing all that in so few pages.  Every page is filled with information and hints.  Now you go and read Of Mice and Men!
