City of Ashes: Book Review
A review for the book City of Ashes.
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare (the second book in the Mortal Instruments series) is a fast pace fantasy novel that readers won’t want to put down. The story is set in Brooklyn and follows the adventure of Clary, a red head with a lot of spunk and a short temper. With her friends by her side, she must try to stop her father from gaining the power to summon every demon in existance as his army against the Shadowhunters.
Shadowhunters are a race of people who kill demons and keep Downworlders under control with the help of Marks, tattoolike symbols which are drawn onto Shadowhunter skin to help them fight.
Clary’s father has decided that the Shadowhunters are corrupt and need to be overthrown to make way for a new leader: himself. To do this, he needs the Mortal Instruments which he can use to summon his demon army and create new Shadowhunters
Personally, I love this series. It has everything I could ever want in a book. Forbidden love, Vampires, Werewolves, magic, action, drama, a story that will grip you and take you on a ride you won’t want to end.
I seriously reccomend this series for any one of any age. The only thing I didn’t like is that it seemed to end too soon. I give this book 4.5 raindrops out of 5.
Liked it
