Could You Survive Without Adults?
Could children survive without adults? This idea came after I read the book The Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Some parts of this post you will only understand if you read the book. I also wrote this post in the point of view as a child myself.

I don’t think that we can survive without adults, because without adults we will not have protection. Adults pose as an authoratative figure. Without adults children will not know what the right thing to do is. Such things would be: what to eat, what specific objects are used for, how to use specific objects, etc… Adults tell us to do things for our own benefits. If we had no guidance through this world, we wouldn’t live long. An example from the text would be when the boys are fighting about the fire being let out. Ralph, the leader, assigned jobs to everyone. But no one takes Ralph seriously, which results in them to lose an opportunity to be rescued. Half the boys are hunting, while the other is trying to find a way to be rescued. If there was an adult on the island, that problem would not have occurred. The adult would have been taken as an autharatative figure. Everyone would have listened to that adult and would get rescued. Adults place rules in order to keep us safe/ with the childish nature of most kids, they can get into big trouble. That is why adults place rules. Without rules we would not survive for very long. An example would be when Jack and Ralph decide to make a fire, but at the end the child with the large birthmark disappeared (dead). The boy went missing because of the chaos that occurred when the fire erupted. If an adult was there, they would have placed rules that kept the children safe from the fire. Also, the kids did not know the rules on how to make a signal fire. That is why the fire erupted. Finally, adults act with the intentions of keeping us safe. The reason why an adult walks their children to school is because they want to keep their kids safe. An example form the text would be when jack assaults Piggy, because Piggy indirectly insults Jack. If an adult was there that event would not have occurred. The adult would have intervened and protected Piggy. Also, the little boy with the birthmark wouldn’t have died. The reason why is because the adult would have taken extra care to keep the younger children safe
