I love Harry Potter, and honestly given the choice to continue living my life in Los Angeles or move to Hogwarts, I would totally move.  It’s not even a question.  Now, I’ve tried to figure out why I love Harry Potter, not the character, but the world, and I’ve come up with a few reasons as to why Harry Potter world is far superior to the one I live in.

1. Magic – Okay, well that one is totally obvious.  Magic is so cool; you can do all these charms and spells and clean your house without actually having to clean your house.  And you carry a wand; I’ve always wanted a wand.  Just think how amazing it would be if magic really did happen; life would be a little easier and a little more exciting.  And then you get to be called wizards, and wizards are so cool.
2. Robes – I think that wearing robes as my regular wardrobe would be the best thing ever.  I honestly could live in sweatpants, and wearing a robe all the time would pretty much be the next best thing.  It’s not tight, so that means if I gained a few pounds my clothes would still fit.  And if I wore black all the time people wouldn’t think that I was going all goth, or maybe that is just my mother.  And robes make you look a little more important, in my opinion; it’s a very distinguished look.
3. Brooms/Apparating – Flying is something I have always wanted to be able to do.  When I was younger I used to dream about being able to fly, how cool would that be?  Think of it, no more traffic, oh that would be a glorious day.  And I would love to be able to apparate.  Aside from the total demise of the auto and plane industries apparating would greatly improve my life.  I could actually live somewhere that had grass, and I could finally get my dog.  And think, instead of always driving around forever trying to find a parking spot you could just be there, and you would have more free time because you wouldn’t have to account for the amount of time it would take for you to get places.  Yes, we definitely need to put money into finding out how to do this.
4. School – I never really cared about going to school, it didn’t really bother me, I didn’t loathe it like some people did.  But if I were going to Hogwarts I would be so excited to go to school.  My school was pretty boring, but Hogwarts has all of these secret rooms and passages that could be explored.  On top of the entirely new world that I would be learning about, I would also be in an amazing environment. 
5.  Adventure – I find myself most days doing about the same thing.  Get up, work out, go to work, etc etc…but in the world of Harry Potter there is always something mysterious and adventurous going on.  It’s just so intense.  About the most intense thing I do these days are sit-ups.  My job doesn’t mean anything to anyone.  But if I lived in Harry Potter world everything I did could have meaning, fighting the good fight.  I love adventure, and I would love to be in the battle.

I know it seems ridiculous to want to live in a Harry Potter novel, but I think that if you have read the books you know what I mean.  I’m not saying that my life is not worth living because I am not a wizard, but I would love to try out life in Harry Potter world, at least for a little while.
