Don’t they say ‘read a book, then pass it on’? Or did I make that up. But you’re right. ‘Possession’ of books is surely a thing of the past when everything is relatively accessable and cheap these days.

My husband and I have been in situations where we had to sell books to get by but unlike you I can’t say that I don’t miss those books. I do. Very much.

I understand people love their books. I still love books, but I’m glad to be without most of them. It was sort of freeing. Still, I’m thinking of getting a Kindle or something similar at some point.

Hmmm, it’s a good point you make J but I think I am too much of a hoarder to get rid of all my books. I think for me I actually enjoy the aesthetic of looking at a big collection of books, as like you, there are not too many I intend to read again anytime soon. Then again I have not moved recently but am planning on moving relatively soon, so I may revise my opinion after the move has taken place!
