Harry Potter Finale Thoughts

My thoughts about the end of an era.

Well, here it is guys. On Friday the first to last installment of the Potter movies will come to theaters. It makes me sad to think about it, really. Like many of the kids who were born in the early 90’s, I grew up waiting for each new book to come out. It was something that I could always look forward to that I knew would be a engaging story.

The movies obviously started coming out shortly after the books- I have to admit that I have been disappointed with things about them, but for the most part they have remained not only faithful, but head and shoulders above what you normally expect to see for books adapted to films, and I have gladly anticipated and gone to see all of them once or twice each in theaters. (One thing I have to say though is wtf at Harry’s hair in the 3rd, 5th, and 6,th movies, c’mon Aunt Petunia tried to cut his hair like that in the sorcerers stone and it just grew back, but I digress.)

I’m going to miss my bi-yearly dose of Potter, and it feels almost like a chapter of my life will be coming to an end as well. Most likely we’ll be old before a Potter reboot is even considered, if it is ever considered at all. Lets hope it’s as great as the trailer makes it look…

and that it goes out with a bang!
