Harry Potter Movies and Books
Does anyone else feel that the movies are getting off topic?
As a Harry Potter fan, I always have read the books and watched the movies. When the first Harry Potter movie came out, I was ecstatic! The movie was parallel to the book, which proves that the director tried hard and actually based the scenes from the movie from parts in the book. I proceeded to read the rest of the books faster and all were extremely high-quality. I actually shed a small tear at the end of the 7th book. Other movies came out and I realized that slowly, the movies were edging away from the book. The first movie came out and it was quite the same as the book. The second movie was extremely entertaining as well. The third movie was getting a bit of topic in some areas but still remained in my positive area. The fourth was what really set me off. I remember everything I read and was amazed at the differences between the two. One thing that was really screwed up that would not have been hard to fix was the second Triwizard challenge. In the movie, Neville gives Harry the gillyweed so he can breathe underwater. Yet in the book, Dobby gives Harry the Gillyweed. These were the little things that got me agitated. The fifth movie was completely mixed up at the end. I remember wanting to see all the cool parts of the inside of the Ministry of Magic. They didn’t have all the cool rooms and fights that the book had. Fortunately, I didn’t see the sixth movie so I can’t comment on that but I can guess it is probably as ghastly as the fifth. My question to you is do you actually enjoy the movies this way or do you like it when movies are close to the book? Comment!
