As you may have heard there were recent conflicts between the new Harry Potter movie and the Twilight.

Which is bigger Harry Potter or Twilight depends on how you view the situation. It seems that Twilight has more clothing apperal being bought and worn by the younger generation, but what young kid wouldnt want to be a hero like Harry Potter. Harry Potter movies have been around for a couple of years now with each new movie building up its fan base. Twilight is newer and it seems the future will have great things for the movies yet to be announced. Year seven of Harry Potter gas just came out to the theaters if year seven of Twilight had came out there would be a “dual between Vampires and Wizards” to determine the best. Twilight eventually should be a bigger hit than Harry Potter.

You really think Twilight could ever be bigger than Harry Potter? WRONG

Harry Potter is a masterpiece. It’s plot, it’s characters, it’s settings, they’re all far too great to even be compared to Twilight.

Twilight is a shallow book, all about looks and obsession. Bella is not in love with Edward, she’s obsessed, she worships him.
    (Read my article on this.)

Twilight’s a book for little girls too naive to realize the real concept of the books… And the fact that people are comparing them with HP is really pitiful.

    Ugh.

Harry Potter is made for preteen children, who like adventure most of all.

Twilight is made for almost adults and adults. It has emotional intensity that DOES NOT exist in Harry Potter.

Why compare the two films? Just because they are popular and have one actor in common is not enough.

Compare Twilight with films like the Piano. There the landscape, intensive love story and the way the movie was made are SIMILAR. These movies were directed by FEMALES with strong emotions. The language is too different from adventure stories for children.

Harry Potter can be compared with megalomaniac films like Narnia or Lord of the Rings (YES: megalomaniac, male directed, mainly for children)

Lord of the Rings mainly for children? Narnia megalomaniac (do you even know the definition of that word?)? Whaaaaat?

Meyer targets the Jonas Brothers / Miley Cyrus Generation… Tweens that will scratch their necks because they think Edward is real.

    Harry Potter waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better!

Yea…this comment makes me want to stab this “BellaB” in the eye with one of Edwards nonexistent fangs.

The harry Potter series, books and movies, have something that the Twilight series books and movies, can only dream of having with their fans…a history. Most Harry Potter fans have literally grown up with the series, I think i first read the book when i was about 11 or 12 years old, and have seen nothing but improvement with every other book to come out of the series. When the movies came out, just about all of the fans were as excited with the quality film making (something that the Twilight films have none of) and acting skills of the cast (another thing that the Twilight films have NONE of) . I gave Twilight a chance, i read all of the books, and even went to see the movie…I wish i could have that time in my life back, the Twilight films were horribly made, the cast is nothing to shake a stick at, the studio knows that over-excited pre teens are their primary audience, so they are spitting them out at lightning speed, too fast for the director to make a film that is really worth watching. Comparing the Harry Potter franchise to the rubbish bin that is Twilight is like comparing “You Got Served” to “Citizen Cane…” it’s idiotic.

    They are totally incomparable.
Each series has their place, Harry Potter’s is just more known and respected because of its history.
Each phenom has fans who will babble for hours on why their series is better and SO FANTASTIC for hours. It’s not even worth it.

    I can appreciate both.

I totally agree with rangrrr as both books and films are great and appreciated hugely. I absoloutley love the Harry Potter books and have read all of them about 4 times, but i also love the twilight books and have just finished reading the fourth book for the second time. Both books and films are completley different but very similar with how popular they are and i also agree with rangrrr here that it is not worth fighting about. I definatley do not think harry potter is for little children, and also do not think twilight is just for raging girls, i just think it is for everyone nd anyone to enjoy.

Harry Potter is better than Twilight for these reasons
    1) It actually has literary credit, you don’t feel like you are reading some soppy vomit worthy pre-teen holiday romance.
    2) It is clear that the author Twilight is completely religious and against feminism. She meets a boy when she is young, and gets married, and it’s all about controlling sexual urges. J.K Rowling leaves all the lust to the imagination and they are better books becuase of it.
    3) Anyone who is educated will prefer Harry Potter becuase the books have substance and are clearly planned throughout. Harry Potter can be read and enjoyed by people of all ages, not just annoying thirteen year old girls
4)Twilight is a phase. Harry Potter is timeless.
