How We Make Our Own Reality
We are actually very powerful. With the right mindset we can achieve miracles. Unfortunately the opposite is also true.

I’ve been reading The Secret by Rhonda Byrne recently. It was originally given me as a Christmas present, but I found it so fascinating and so exciting hat I’m reading and rereading it constantly in small chunks and making it work for me.
The book’s basic idea is that we create our own worlds. The universe says “Your wish is my command.” We get what we expect. Often it can be complex and we think we are wishing for one thing but we behave in a way as if the opposite is bound to happen, guess what, it does. Worry is that negative expectation.
Isn’t the Credit Crunch a really good example of that happening collectively?
The bottom line is we appear to have run out of money, but how can that actually be, as money is supposed to represent labour and raw materials? Now, global warming or not, the earth is still supplying us with riches. There is plenty of work to be done. So, where is the lack other than in our own minds, and at the moment as a form of mass hysteria?
I was asked recently for my opinion about cut backs on upgrading the London Underground system. The recession, I was told, meant that they could no longer afford to put in the air conditioning. Yet they had ordered all the equipment to do it and there were more than enough engineers around who were willing and able to do the work. I’m afraid I was rather forthright in my reply and the film was never shown. The problem for London Transport was finding the cash to pay the workers. It’s complex because of our monetary system, of course. And yet , if we keep our eye on the big picture …oh and even look for a way of cooling down the Underground without making the planet even hotter … and that research needs to be done, by the way – don’t we actually want a nice comfortable transport system in the UK’s capital?
There is a physical reality. Some banks have run out of money and have none to lend. This may well have been because of a loss at some point of the big picture: lets lend this vast amount today so that we get a good immediate return and we’ll worry later when these people can no longer pay up.
But that reality does not effect everyone all of the time. Some banks are not running out of money. Some of us have secure jobs. Some of us grow because we have to find another way.
We are now living in fear. “Better not go on holiday this year – not sure how secure the job is.” Well, whatever, but you’ve now put the job of that nice little girl who works at the Travel Agent’s in danger. If we walk positively into the future we can achieve.
I look out of my window as I write, and I note that the sun is still shining and it’s likely that this planet will go on circling that star for a good while yet. The sun provides the light which makes the plants grow that feed us and the animals and gives us the energy to fulfil our dreams. It is all there for the taking, and actually, if we do that without worrying – greed comes from fear of the abundance running out – we can have and allow others to have glorious lives.
It is up to us to think in terms of cups being half full already and still being filled. What is more, the drink is our choice. That is the secret of The Secret.
