I Am The Cheese

Adam wants to visit his father and needs to ride his bike from Monument, Massachusetts to Rutterburg, Vermont. The main problem is that Adam suffers from claustrophobia, left home without his medication, and encounters many obstacles on his long journey.

I learned that it is important to keep in touch with your relatives, no matter how difficult it may be. Even though Adam’s father had a troubled life, Adam appreciated his dad and wanted to make the long journey to see him again.

This story is about a boy who is traveling on his bike from Massachusetts to Vermont. The main character is Adam Delmonte, a young boy who wants to visit his only relative, his father. Adam’s dad is in a mental institution because of things that have happened in his childhood. The main problem is that Adam has to travel a long way on his bicycle. This is even more difficult because Adam has very little money and has left his house without his medication. This makes it hard for him to deal with his claustrophobia. This is a problem because he can’t go into small places, such as elevators or bathrooms, unless there is a window. Adam encounters different people on his journey and sometimes finds himself in bad situations. On one case, his bike gets stolen and he must fight to get it back. In another case, he comes across the gangsters who hit him with their cars. Adam’s problem is solved when he reaches his destination and sees his father.
