John Marsden: Tomorrow When The War Began

This is a short book review of the book “Tomorrow when the War began” from John Marsden.

The book which I will review is the book I’m reading at the moment, it’s called “Tomorrow, when the war began” and it’s by John Marsden.

This book is about a group of friends who go camping together for a week, to a place which they call hell. They go into the forest with their land rover, then they pack all the food and stuff into giant backpacks and continue by foot. When they get there they decide not to use the tents, they get out their sleeping bags and set up the site with a fire in the middle and some logs around it to sit on. They plan to do a lot the next day, like explore the area, go trekking, climb the hills, and all that sort of stuff. When they wake up in the morning they don’t feel like doing anything like it any more. And that is how all the days pass.

During the last night two of them wake up because of a loud engine sound, they stare at the sky as hundreds of jets fly over them. It was strange, there were hundreds of them, they were flying very low and most shocking, without lights. In the morning they talked about it. Most think that they came back from commemoration day.

When they went back home they found that no one was there. They went to check at all of their houses but no positive results. Something was wrong, they knew that. The phone lines were dead, no channels on TV and radio, and their pets where even dead. They decided that they have to find out what was wrong. First they had to have some food so that they have enough energy. They set off when it was dark so that no one would see them.

I would really recommend this book. It’s exiting and full of tension.
