Ken Kesey: Kukushkin Over Nest

"Over Kukushkin’s nest" – a hymn to the triumph of sincerity and kindness. Amazingly truthful novel. The author looks at life through the eyes of mentally ill person. He sees her for who she really is, without falsehood and deception. From this view, both from the view of a young child, nothing to hide. This world is scary, makes the hide, close in his little world. A system of institutions for mentally ill people that purposefully promotes.

But then came the OH! “The Chief” realizes that McMurphy is not like everyone else. Joker, playboy, jolly man – on the one hand, and on the other – he fought. Even the most cruel manipulation of the medical staff establishments do not put him on his knees. At the cost of enormous efforts, he was able not only to defend themselves, but also pulled from the depths of others. Yes and no, he pulled them all, but simply irresistible force of his spirit kindled a fire in their soul, freed their inner selves.

I am delighted! Ken Kesey wrote the novel back in 1962, besides it was his very first book. What a success, what depth! This book is at all times. Read necessarily. Read and understand.
