Obsessed Teens

Twilight Obsessed Fans.

Is Twilight getting a little out of hand? Yes. Obsessed teens are fanning themselves in Twilight products. At school, they only speak, think and want Twilight. This is all blown out of proportion. A teen can easily obsess over something, and Twilight is the main target. Even the worshiped Stephenie Meyer isn’t that nice of a person. When I lived and breathed only Twilight, I found a website where the publishing company added a link. I clicked on it, and it was their address. You could send in a letter and something for Stephenie to sign. I was thirteen then, and, over two years later, never got anything back. It was supposed to be sent back. And when she signs books or anything, she barely looks up, no pictures and no physical touches.

Stephenie Meyer says that Twilight was a dream, but, being able to write(somewhat), was she just beginning this story to get publicity and money? Though the idea of the books is good, the writing is bad. I myself have read the series and enjoyed them until I paid attention to what she wrote. An example is in New Moon, when Edward is back and he’s explaining how hard it was for him to leave her.

Edward is explaining to Bella that he needed to leave without hurting her. Though it was impossible. And here’s what Bella says:

“A Clean Break,” I whispered, without moving my lips.

It’s impossible to do so, because, when saying a “p” or a “b” sound, your lips do somewhat of a pop. If you say it, it sounds like ” A clean rake”. Try this, and if you don’t believe me, or you know what’s true and don’t want to think about it, look through the beloved Twilight series. If another author was to rewrite this, then there’s a possibility it would be better. But, Stephenie, try harder next time. And try reading out load.

I’m not lying, and I have evidence. There are other examples in there, and my ACS teacher had a board put out in the hallway. He posted plenty of examples from the Twilight series where Stephenie obviously got confused.  Under worst writing, Twilight was written more times than any other books. Under best writing theres was a majority. My school knows what’s true, but does any others?

I am not a Twilight fan but you cannot justify the dangerous obsession of the Twilight series. Though teens may be talking and thinking exclusively about the Twilight series, the same thing occurred when the Harry Potter series was released. When the first Harry Potter book was released no one noticed the errors it contained, they focused on the book itself. My theory is teens (a group which I fall under) are just sheep, attempting to achieve a sense of companionship and belonging by involving themselves in a fad. Eventually that fad will fall under fire and criticism because people began to notice faults in the fad. So I say just leave these Twilight fans to their fantasies, wait a couple years and watch them scurry to the new fad, just in time to start the cycle again.

Actually, I disagree. Not just because I happen to be the one to have written this, but because it’s true. I was a Harry Potter fan. I was just about the only one to read the books in my elementray school, and kids thought me weird. I reread them often and the librarians gave me strange looks. Then, about the time that the second movie came out, kids started watching them. But only half of the fanbase read the books. Then came Twilight in 2005. I started to read Twilight, and the next thing I know, is I can’t not talk or think of it. I was obsessed, and I still am. But I ALWAYS noticed the mistakes. In both Harry Potter and the Twilight series. The thing that captured me has always been the idea of the book, the plot, and the fantasy material. I can’t read the everyday novel because it isn’t fantasy. I never have been able to. But, they only read it because of a fad? No, worng. Twilight was out in theaters and that’s when it became extremly positive. Think about it people. It’s all because of the crushing, book-messing, movies.
And anyways, all books have errors. And a lot of people don’t notice them, do they?
