Reading Story Books Can be Fun
This is an article on reading story books.
Reading books is considered to be one of the most enjoyable pastimes. Reading a story book can often transport us into a world created by the writer’s imagination. Being curled up with a good storybook can be a great way to relax and forget about worries, albeit for a short while.
Story books straddle across numerous genres and can be of various lengths. The number of pages in a story book varies greatly. They may consist of only a few pages; for example very short or abridged tales. On the other hand they may be of several hundred pages such as many novels, and complete, unabridged classics such as ‘The Pickwick Papers’ by Charles Dickens.
Story books may belong to several genres such as classics, detective stories, stories of mystery and adventure, fantasy, ghost stories, humourous tales, romantic stories, sport tales and many many others. Several story books may belong to more than one category.
Story books bring us in contact with a wide variety of characters and situations, places and times, views, attitudes and opinions. They often raise important questions. However, a good story book almost always provides a sense of pleasure to the reader.
The internet has done its bit in promoting story books since a lot of people have come to know of books they were not aware of. It has thus opened up a whole new shelf of books for the reading public.
