In this 186 page, it tells the story of a High School student, Andy, who is driving his car that he crashes into a barricade that would separate the incoming lanes. The crash had killed Robert Washington, Andy best friend and the captain of the basketball team. On that it was late and they had been drinking, now month have gone by and Andy still can’t forgive himself for what had happened that fateful night.

Loss

Everyone in some point in time has had to deal with a loss or will have to deal with a loss. A loss is like a shape-shifter it can come it many different forms. Loss can come in the form losing a beloved family pet, a family friend and the most precious thing to anyone a close family member. A loss can have a positive influence or a negative influence on a person. The loss can make you realize that living your life to the fullest, but at the expense of losing a loved one. Think about a loss that you have recently had to deal with and how that affected you.

What if a childhood friend of yours or a family member was killed in a car crash? After receiving the news, imagine how you would fell. Now what if I told you to imagine the person driving the car were you. You were drinking and driving and you killed your best friend in that car crash. How would you feel knowing that it’s your fault, you caused the crash, you killed somebody and you had to watch them die in front of you screaming for their life?  This happened to a High school student.

Andy had the hardest time dealing with the fact, he killing his best friend, Robert Washington, the captain of the basketball team. After they had won a major basketball game, they decided to celebrate. Earlier that day, Andy decide he would go out and buy some a cases of beer for incase they won the game. Everyone ended up drinking a lot beer except for B.J, who had never drunk in his life. Andy had drunk the most. While on the road, cars had started beeping their horn at them and since they were so drunk and didn’t know why the other drivers were honking, they started laughing. Next thing they know they had hit a wall, Robert being in the passenger seat had his legs up on the dash board his legs had gone through the windshield. Andy and B.J had tried to help get Robert out of the car, but the gas tank exploded. Robert being trapped in the car burned alive.

Helpless they had to watch the catch ablaze along with Robert inside the car on the passenger side being burned alive. Imagine having to stand there feeling the heat from the fire on your face, having to stand the smell of burning flesh, and watching and hearing a person screaming for the life, while they are being burned alive. Months later and Andy is still blaming himself for what happened; even though it really is his fault, but no one says it out loud. He tries to get support from his girlfriend, but her patience start to wear thin; she couldn’t put up any longer and decides to cut him loose. He started to lose hope of becoming the next greatest N.B.A player. He started going to therapy, he had the psychologist fooled into thinking he was getting better, but everyone knew he was getting worse. One day, Andy had been late for school, he started walking and got about half way to school and forgot where he was going. He went back home and went to his room with his Dad’s shotgun and went to his room, where he sat on his bed and shot himself in the head.

Tiger of a Tiger is highly recommended in my opinion. This book is an excellent read for young adults and adults. This book is worded how an average teenager would speak to their friends and you can also take the role as one the character in the book. Middle school and High school student may find out is exciting and real.
