SSP Book Reviews – Sign Language

This time around we have a review of Sign Language by Eliza Rhodes a new up and coming author from California.

Sign Language

Let’s hear it for Eliza! Eliza Rhodes that is.

How many out there have read the little book titled “Sign Language”?

It’s a fun, comfortable, uplifting book of quips and quotes from a talented coffee shop sidewalk sign writer. Yep, apparently sidewalk sign writing can turn into a bigger profession.

Imagine entering your favorite spot to stop for tea in Encinitas, CA and being asked to write something for the sign board. That’s pretty much what happened to Eliza when she showed up at her regular stop for her cup of Chai. The owners had some big plans for her. Turns out that once she accepted the job, that’s exactly how she got paid. In tea! That must be some great Chai! I don’t think many of us would have been willing to accept a cup of tea for a quote a day. Well, maybe, but I’d want an extra large cup for all that thinking I’d have to do to come up with just the right quote for the day.

I happen to personally know this writer and beyond her writings……..she’s a fun, comfortable, uplifting woman of many talents. It runs in her family! She really does seem to always know the right thing to say.

Currently “Sign Language by Eliza Rhodes” is not available at your bigger book stores. Barnes and Noble and Borders have missed out.

Information regarding it’s purchase can be found by searching out Eliza Rhodes and the title of the book on the internet.

This lady is quick with a quote and right on target. I’m truly happy that Ms. Rhodes saved all her scraps of paper and has given us a book full of inspiration. I’ve got my copy loaded with my own scrapes of paper to mark my favorite pages. Hopefully we won’t have to wait very long for the second addition. Hint…hint..

Check it out! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as everyone I know who has read it has.

Go Eliza!
