Stephen King Wrote a Book on Writing
This is an essay on his book Stephen King On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft.
For many years since I discovered Stephen King I have read his books. They bring out many emotions. Most of them keep one in suspense and scared (in a good sort of way of course) no nightmares here.
The key to his writing is that his books are better than his movies. Don’t get me wrong his movies are quite entertaining. One of his books which is my favorite next to “The Stand” is “It”.
Clowns scare me of course and this one wraps the plot around a clown called “Pennywise”. This clown can give you chills when you see him for the first time on screen.
“The Stand” comes close to an apocalyptic world gone mad by the flu virus which was chemically engineered.
Anyway next Anne Rice who is famous for her vampire chronicles Stephen is one of my favorite horror writers.
Now back to his book its worth the read. Feel free to pick it a part and digest it at your leisure. Its a good little book for some of we writers. The biography isn’t bad either.
Stephen comes across as a no nonsense writer and his beginnings strike one as humbling. He gives you a valuable insight on how to write and write the way you should with the talent you have.
He is not condescending and he gives one the sense that if you have what it takes you can do it.
He also encourages a serious writer to read. One thing most of you will like about the book is that he is very down to earth but raw writer of the word and about how to write your material. Sorry folks he is a real stickler when it comes to grammar etc. and the craft which one should be.
He attempts to give you the benefit of his scope and advice on the art of writing.
He also mentions one has to have a toolbox (grammar, etc.). This is the tools of the trade. Anyway I enjoyed the book maybe you will to.
Liked it

I’ll check this book out!
inerestingly nice post,thanks,stumbled
I like Steven King, My favorite short story was Children of the Corn, and The Shining was the best ever.
Reading is really indispensable in writing; if you don’t have time to read, you cannot write. That’s what I’ve read about On Writing..thanks for reminding me…
I am going to look for this book I need all the help I can get.
