The Golden Compass

I know I am very religious as well. So this is for all you people out there that are like me. I have read the golden compass and this is why everyone hates it though personally I loved it.

For all you people out there I am religious and yes I have read an Anti-God book. Yup that’s right i have read The Golden Compass. And so here I am to share my views on it

The Golden Compass’s main character is Lyra and her daemon Pan. This book has a great beginning about her trying to get her uncle to take her to the north. The book describes her journey to the north and finding out who she is. Lyra helps to save a bunch of children from and evil lady. But I’m not writing to tell you about this book.

You don’t really find out why this book is all Anti-God until very close to the end. Only then did it start to click. The author took the story of Adam and Eve and completely altered their story to fit his! All the verses. It seems to me as though you are not supposed to change bible verses. Any way after this Lyra enemy does something that seems only a God can do. He splits open the skies! Yes that’s right ladies and gentle men the enemy splits open the Aurora lights which lead into a parallel universe. He then departs into it and Lyra follows determined to stop him. So thus the book ends.

The Second book is worse however. In here you learn that the enemy of Lyra is actually hunting to kill their version of God and destroy dust.

In this book and the second called The Subtle Knife the top story is amazing. It gives you ideas about parallel universes and such. But some people like me like to read deeper into the story. And when you get this you realize what this book series is really about. How much this author is Anti God. So to all you people out there who are religious like me and are curious about this book you have been forewarned about the deeper meaning of this book. I regret nothing about reading this book and I am almost done with the second and on my way to the third. It gave me an insight on to what other people think about all things we can’t see, things we can only have faith in.
