The Tales of Beedle the Bard

A short tale after the Harry Potter series.

After the final installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has been released, author J.K. Rowling didn’t want to upset millions of fans from around the world. So, she created a compilation of short wizard stories: The Tales of Beedle the Bard which was released late 2008.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard was first mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows focusing mainly on one of the stories: The Tale of the Three Brothers. The other stories weren’t mentioned much unlike the Tale of the Three Brothers since the Elder Wand, Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak which is in the possession of Harry Potter was what Voldemort wanted to get and caused more of the action in the story.

The book consists of five (5) short stories with commentaries written by Rowling under the name Albus Dumbledore. It is also acknowledge in the book that Hermione Granger translated the book from Ancient Runes.

The five stories are:

  • The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
  • The Fountain of Fair Fortune
  • The Warlock’s Hairy Heart
  • Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump
  • The Tale of the Three Brothers

Apart from that, the proceeds of the book will go to Children’s High Level Group (CHLG) which aims to help children across Europe and hopefully the world who needs help. At the end of the book CHLG wrote a 3 page letter written by Baronnes Nicholson of Winterbourne, co-Chair of CHLG.

You can purchase the book at bookstores approximately $12.99 US
