Top Three Failed Movie Books
Three books that where turned into movies but failed.
1. Twilight Series
For one year I heard everyone tell me how good the Twilight Series was. I picked up the first book “Twilight” and was hooked. When it was announced that a movie of “Twilight would be released, there was a lot of hype up and around. After the first movie was released, a lot of money was made in the box-office, but many bad reviews of “Twilight” were found all over the Internet. Now there is little buzz about the Sequel of the “Twilight” movie, “New Moon” which is to be released on November 22. Perhaps it was a feeble attempt to gain the popularity of the “Harry Potter” series which has acquired much international recognition. The Sixth Movie of Harry Potter (to be released in July) is much more anticipated than the sequel of Twilght. Many “Twilight” fans agree that the books convey much more of the story to a person than the movie(s).
2. Chronicles of Narnia
First off, the first book in the series is “The Magician’s Nephew”, but instead of making this the first movie, “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” was the one to be chosen and put into production. Just before it’s release there was much talk about how good/bad it would be. After everyone had seen it there were many mixed feelings about it. This first movie, which was released in 2005. There were various spoof or comedies of the movie which comes to make us think that it was quite popular indeed. However the second movie “Prince Caspian” was released in May last year. If did not get as much attention as it’s predecessor. “Prince Caspian” had many flaws which upset-ted many fans which were expecting much from the sequel as they though it would be better than the first and would gain international recognition.
3. A Series Of Unfortunate Events
Ambitiously 3 of the 13 books were turned into one movie. This made the movie short of many important scenes that were present in the book. With the presence of the actor Jim Carrey, it turned the movie into much of a comedy, which changed the dramatic aura of the books. Much of the movie was too brief and failed to pass to the watcher some feeling that were felt by one that had read any of the three books. To date there is no planned sequel to the movie. This is maybe due to the fact that the first movies was not very profitable and may seem to others pointless as they are often condescending.
Many have tried to attain the success and profit earned from successful series such as “Harry Potter”But as viewers expect much from movies it is simply not just a walk in the park.

Don’t forget Eragon. They completely raped that book.
