Twilight Series

My review of the Twilight Series.

Stephenie Meyer was selected as “one of the most promising authors of 2005″ by booksellers after her debut novel Twilight was published. She says that the original idea for the story came to her in a dream and she simply expanded on it. But it wasn’t over with the end of Twilight-far from it. Three more novels were needed to bring the story to it’s conclusion. Thus New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn were born.

Twilight weaves the beginnings of a love saga between Bella Swan, a human who moves to Forks, Washington from Phoenix, Arizona, and Edward Cullen, a vampire. When Edward catches Bella’s scent during biology class it takes all of his self control not to leap up and destroy her on the spot. After many more close calls he manages to achieve a rudimentary level of self control and they fall in love. In New Moon Edward leaves, hoping that Bella would fall in love with a ‘normal’ boy so that her life would be safer, but, instead, she becomes best friends with a werewolf by the name of Jacob Black. After an incident Bella goes to Italy to retrieve Edward and again their love is pledged. Unfortunately, a small part of Bella has fallen in love with Jacob, which she finds out in Eclipse. She must choose between the boys, but which one should she take? Edward or Jacob? Vampire or werewolf? She chooses with absolute finality in the thrilling conclusion Breaking Dawn.

I loved this series because of it’s unexpected twists and turns. If you like action, adventure, and romance, this is the series for you!

I’ve read them all except for Breaking Dawn. I can’t seem to find it anywhere, but hopefully I will soon.

The only reason Meyer was selected as “one of the most promising authors of 2005″ is because her publisher is making more money than anyone could ever dream of. Or do you really think it’s because of the great writing? *note my sarcasm*
