Writing in The Raw

I was only seven years old when I became a lover of reading science fiction. My mum had been keen to help me learn to read from the word go, and somehow the Dan Dare of the Eagle comic led me into longer works, Isaac Asimov my all-time favorite author.

My AUTHOR PAGE  on Amazon  is at this url- http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B006IYVA1K  -  and it will, by the end of this week, be featuring BOTH of my e-books, Dancing with the devil and other twisted tales – a five-star rated short fiction collection – and the brand-new Eternity and more – science fiction shorts – both volumes by Tony H Leather.

Obviously I am very keen to see that readers of my work both buy and comment upon my books. The new publication of mine is actually the fulfillment of a childhood ambition, because I told myself in my primary school years that I would publish my own science fiction book at some stage.

For those in the US who want to buy my book, the URL you need is http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006KXE4O4

while those in the UK should instead be looking to log on at

I have, in recent times, been having some doubts about the benefits of continuing to provide content to the triond site at the rate I have been doing this for the past year, simply because the financial rewards for doing so are frankly not really good enough.  Any full-time writer would be nodding in agreement at this point, because they will understand where I am coming from.

I myself have known the pleasure of being paid twenty cents a word for posts, so that a 2,000 word post earned me $400 – anyone can see that this represents a vastly bigger payday than one could ever hope for at triond, and something for every genuine writer to aspire to.

There is without doubt a good reason to post to sites like triond, because they make great proving grounds for all aspiring authors, but they are NOT the real writing world, and one should bear that in mind.  I have been told that my fiction is not only very good, but also the best of my writing, so I should spend more time on proper creative writing – which fiction is of course – and much less on the  posts to the low-paying on line writing sites. The following URL is my announcement of the new book launch.

Buy this fabulous fiction feast for yourself – it really is worth every penny – and you will see exactly what is meant by those who praise my fiction so highly.  A great read is a joy forever, and believe me, this new book really is one GREAT read.
