“Ladies and gentlemen, I am interviewing Guy Hogan the editor and publisher of the Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette. Mr. Hogan, how are you today?”
“Fine. Let’s get to it.”
“No hangover?”
“I’m on a fixed budget. There’s only so much money set aside for booze.”
“Mr. Hogan, you write a lot of stories about sex.”
“Young man, how many times do I have to tell you I write about human sexuality not sex.”
“What’s the difference?”
“Pure sex, people just doing it is porn. I don’t write porn. I write about the totality of human sexual relationships.”
“So, you would describe stories like: Girls Kissing Girls, Girls Gone Wild, The Topless Dancer, Sex Videos and The Last Nude Photos as relationship stories?”
“With the emphasis on sexuality. Do you have a ten spot you can spare?”
“Ten bucks?”
“Help a follow writer out.”
“Okay. Sure. Here.”
“Thanks. Now let’s knock off”
“What? I just got here.”
“I still have a few beers in the fridge. We’ll finish those off and head on over to Del’s Italian Restaurant.”
“The place that was the inspiration for The Death of Karaoke.”
“You got it. Happy hour starts in one hour. The best beer at the best prices in town.”
“Ladies and gentleman, we’ve been talking with Guy Hogan the author of Girls Kissing Girls. Until next time.”
