Book Review; The Saucy Jane Family by Enid Blyton

The canal stretched as far as they could see, blue and straight. A little way up it, on the opposite side, were two or three big white boats – houseboats, with people living in them. Smoke rose from the chimney of one of them.[1]

I was looking for a light book which can help me to improve my reading skills and vocabularies at the same time. I had no idea which book which can help me, since almost all of the books that I have are the same. They are not a light book and using difficult words. Then I found a novel by Enid Blyton, a British novelist who had written a lot of children books during his life. The other thing that makes me interested to this book is, on the cover of the book, there’s her name written as the author of the book, but, I just realised that it’s actually her signature which be printed on it.

From this novel, I learned how precious the time with family is. So I chose to review about the story in this novel. Reading this book makes me feel the happiness of the kids – Mike, Belinda and Ann, for having their summer holiday in a houseboat, not in their caravan. Then their parents taught them how to swim in the canal with great views.

By the middle of the story, you will find a great excitement on reading this book and by the end of the story; you will find that this novel is more than just a novel.
