Summary

Al Lister is canoeing on James Bay when he sees the 400 year old ship, The Discovery. Al tries to paddle back to the shore and see that it is not there. He later finds out from Henry Hudson’s son, Jack, that he’s been sent back 400 years. Jack leads Al back to his own camp where he sees the rest of Hudson’s crew. The next day in the early morning the crew is attacked by Aboriginals in which one man named Staffe is killed. Henry Hudson is too weak to go on so Al and Jack head for where Al’s camp is supposed to be 400 years later. When they stop to rest they get knocked unconscious and awake at Al’s camp tied up. Al reaches for an arrow head he had picked up earlier and starts cutting the bonds with it. One of the Aboriginals goes over and starts dancing and waving a spear. Eventually he stabs Jack in the leg. Al tells Jack the truth about himself and then climbs over the big rock that they are sitting against alone. He meets an Aboriginal warrior from a different tribe and they go back over the big rock where the warrior and his men kill the other Aboriginals. Al bumps his head and wakes up to his present time.
