Mossflower

This book, Mossflower, is an action-packed adventure story that takes place in Mossflower country and surrounding mountains, deserts, grasslands, and rivers during what I think to be the Middle Ages.

          The main character is Martin the Warrior.  He is fearless, courageous, determined, and is true to his word.  He is a true warrior. 

          The story starts when Martin is traveling in unknown territory to him and is captured by the Kotir army.  He is sent to the cells where he eventually escapes with help of Gonff Prince of Mousethieves.  They go to the woodlander’s hideout.  After planning how to defeat Kotir, Martin, Gonff, and Dinny the Mole head to Salamandstrom on a special mission.  They face many challenges on the way and meet Log-a-log Bigclub of Guoism.  He helps them and they all reach Salamandstrom safely. When they arrive, Boar the Fighter repairs Martin’s broken sword and Martin gains more courage being reunited with it.  Then after Boar’s Battle against the sea rats, Martin, Gonff, Dinny, Log-a-log, and some others from Salamandstrom steal the sea rat’s ship and head back to Mossflower.  When they get back with the new reinforcements they easily crush Kotir, flooding the city, taking half the army as prisoners, and killing the queen.  The woodlanders destroy Kotir and start building a new city to live a peaceful life with no dangers called Redwall.  Everyone was no longer in danger and they all live happily ever after!

          I would recommend this book to people who like animals, action, adventure, challenges, and strategies.  This book was exciting to read and I hope if you read it you will like it too!
