My First Ebook
A fairy story in rhyme. Princess Star tries to save an old tree.
Drawings by my son Stephen.

I just finally published my first ebook call Princess Star, Tooth Fairy. I wrote it many years ago to explain to my then young children, why it was that fairies needed to take teeth from under pillows.
We often as parents tell children stories, making some up, passing some down but do not always think of the effect the story will have on a young mind; they are innocent tales after all.
For a young child, thoughts of a fairy searching under their pillow can be frightening as they lay down to sleep. The reward in the morning is fine and greeted happily but it is in the moments before sleep that the fear can arise.
I invented this story to make my child feel that she was part of a good event and helping the fairies but mainly to answer her question, as to why the fairies need teeth in the first place. At that time I had never heard that questions asked before nor considered an answer to it.
The story went down a treat. With the assistance of my then 15 year old son, I put a rough book together. Finally with paperless publishing, I have not only seen it in its finished form but have had the pleasure of seeing it being downloaded.
Blogging has given me the chance to put my stories and poems online and it is an enjoyable experience to know someone unknown to you is reading and appreciating your efforts.
Ebook publishing gives the opportunity to publish with little or no cost. It is now possible to trial a book you have written to see if it will garner enough downloads to interest a traditional publisher. I may do this with the Princess Star story or if the downloads should be significant enough, leave well alone. What is significant for me is that this process of blogging and ebook publishing, is another indication of how the internet has changed the writer’s world for the better.

Congratulations! It is true; it is a new era for the writer.
That’s a nice idea to emulate. I’ll come up with my own simple e-book too. Thanks Bailieman.
Nicely done. Congratulations, great art work too.
The tooth fairy idea was very creative. You’re lucky to have a live-in illustrator.
Congratulations! More power to you!
