Teen Book Series

Books for teens that have mild langauge, good humor, adventure and either fantasy or sci-fi.

Here are some series of books that are outstanding.  Each book has its own story and world in which you can lose yourself in if you open your mind.  All the series I am about to describe are for ages 10 and up for mild language.  Also in the books there might be certain concepts, theories that may be slightly confusing.

Here is the “The Ranger’s Apprentice” series.  “The Ranger’s Apprentice” series is an invigorating story about a young boy named Will, he was brought up as an orphan at castle Redmount,  dreaming to one day become a knight, but destiny holds a different path for young Will.

The Ranger’s Apprentice” series was written by John Flanagan, there are currently 6 books out in North America, 8 out in Australia and 4 released in Great Britain.

Next up, ”The Keys to the Kingdom” by Garth Nix.  “The Keys to the Kingdom” follows the tale of a boy named Arthur Penhaligon, each of the 7 books follows a day, starting with Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday and etc.  On Monday, Arthur encounters a new dimension and thrown into a whole new world with magic and mayhem. Its now up to young Arthur, The Rightful Heir to the Kingdom, to establish order in the chaos.  There are currently only 6 of the 7 books out so far.  The final book Lord Sunday will be released March, 2010.

The last series is 3 books long, only 2 books have been released to the public.  “The Tapestry” is what the series is called and is a very well written series by Henry H. Neff.  The first book is called “The Hound of Rowan“.  It starts off with Max McDaniels, a boy who lives a quiet life in the Chicago suburbs, until one day he encounters a tapestry showing a picture of the mythical Cattle Raid of Cooley.  From this moment on Max is confronted by enemies appearing to be friends, true friends who help him on his way to greatness and the mysterious presence within him.  All of this can take place at Rowan Academy, where mysterious forces push and pull at the boy, and where magic is real.
