A Nerdy Take on Dickens’ Great Expectations

A short summary and review of the book Great Expectations.

A recently read the great book Great Expectaions by the exceptional author, Charles Dickens. I found it to be one of my favorite books of all time

Great Expectations starts out with the orphan Pip who is terrorized to stealing food for a convict who will play a much huger role latter.Oh, Pip is the main character (full name Phillip) who is orphaned and lives with his mean sister and her husband, Pips friend Joe. A few months later, Pip is invited to go to the rich Miss Havisham’s house, He is poor  boy and is greatly effected by the grandness and and wants to be rich too. There he also meets a strange pale gentelmen who will later be one of his best friend’s and Estella , Miss Havisham’s adopted daughter who is super disdainful of Pip. FRor the next few months, Pip discovers more of the strange house and pushes Miss Havishams around and does other strange job. Finally Pips visit stop as he is apprenticed to Joe as a blacksmith. Pip is extremely dunpleased and everyday dreams of being a gentlemen. Finally, a lawyer comes one day and says Pip has some great expectaions and some rich unknown benefactor. Soon, Pip is entwined a mystery on Miss Havishams and a great realization of what really mattered most to him all along.

This book is a must read. Although the vocab and language is sort of hard for the modern reader at times, they must read this classic. Dickens spins up a book this nerdy guy highly recommends on about a realization of what really matters most too people:money or family. This is a book everyone must experience.
