Changes in Elizabethan Drama
About the Changes in Elizabethan drama during Shakespeare’s time.
Elizabethan Drama was changing dramatically and rapidly in the late 13th century and early 16th century. For example, some early successful dramatists that changed drama were Lyly, Kyd, Greene, Beaumont, Fletcher, Johnson, and Marlowe. Some changes were the adding of the five-act structure and soliloquies in dramas. Also, the acting components of drama were changing. Permanent theaters were being built and they were charging money for people to see the plays. Also, the scene and stage effects were minimal, due to the intense dialogue of drama. As you can see, Elizabethan Drama has changed very much.
