Why?

I think another reason for him having gray hair is that maybe since his brother keeps visiting him, he is probably older and sick, although his brother is old he still cares though. Maybe he has gray hair in real life and relates to himself with it in the flashback for a number of reasons. Maybe he sees himself with it because he hasn’t changed much since or just thinks of himself with it. These could all be reasons.
