Alison and Jenny McGregor of Aberdeen, Scotland’s third most populous city, have been kidnapped and Detective Sergeant Logan McRae and his colleagues are left with the task of finding this mother-daughter singing sensation.
With no clues or forensic evidence to solve this crime time seems to be running out meaning this kidnapping may go unsolved. However, there is a ransom demand which appears in all the papers, T.V., and all over the internet letting the nation know that it is up to them to get the ransom money together if they want to see Alison and Jenny McGregor alive again. Can the Detective Sergeant use clues from this to find the missing Alison and Jenny? Could this crime be just a staged hoax to gain T.V. viewers?
This is a fictional crime story which has a lot going on. It is not just this case, but others as well, that DS McRae must solve. There are smaller cases which also keep you guessing about their outcomes.
Interesting with dark humour and many twists throughout this is a must read, especially for those who enjoy fictional crime stories. I know that am looking forward to reading more Stuart MacBride books.
