Soldiers Heart
Paragraph of information about Soldiers Heart written by Leo Medzius just want to say its a great book.
Charley always thought that going to war would make him more mature.
He would learn a lot there and make a lot of money for his family, but what he didn’t know is that after war everyone has some mental disorders. Something bad always happens in war and you remember it for the rest of your life.
He also thought that he would help his country serving for military. He met a lot young people in the military. Some of them looked even younger than him. He had couple friends, but when they went to war they died and he tried helping them when they were wounded on the ground even though you could not help them because you could get your self killed while helping them that was a rule.
Charley than realized that you shouldn’t get into a good relationship with anyone there because one day you see them another day you might see them dieing in war. When Charley had to kill horses in war he felt kind of dirty because he worked with horses in farm where he lived and he loved them. I don’t think that Charley knew what was really going to happen to him in the military, because when boys play games about shooting and wars it doesn’t not mean that real war is the same way.
This wouldn’t be the way to become a man. I think becoming a man is when u start acting more mature and start taking more responsibility and doing a lot more other things, but not going to war and helping your country maybe at that time he thought it was what mature boy/man should do, but it actually wasn’t.
I think the book was called Soldiers Heart because it was about war and becoming a man. It was about what you have to know to be in war and how strong you have to be in war not only physically, but mentally too. It is really had to hide the things that you felt in the war after you get back home.
I think that revolver was pretty for Charley after the war because he knew it could make his life easier by just shooting him self and not having to worry about any other things and he wouldn’t have to think of what happened in war again. It would just help him by shooting him self. I think he still killed himself just because at the end he wanted to and stopped he put the gun down, but maybe later he shot himself because I don’t think you want to feel the same pain that you felt when you were shooting those people and horses and doing a lot more other things.
