Success

According to "The Greatest Salesman in the World" there is not one definition of success.

In the first scroll from “The Greatest Salesman in the World” from the thousands of successful people in the world, no two will define success in the same words.   However, the definition of failure is ones inability to reach ones goals in life.

So what does success mean?    Based on the above, I guess it is up to us to define our own success.   Each one of us usually have more than one role to play in life.    For example, you are a son/daughter, husband/wife, parent, employee, employer etc.    In most cases, we need to play the multiple roles at the same time.

Sometimes our roles are temporary, other times are roles are permanent.    The key thing in being successful is to prioritize our roles and then define actions that will make us successful.

So what is success?

One, the measurement of success should not be tied to a temporary role.    If we base our success on our success in our temporary role, what would happen to the success when that role disappears.

Two, we should make our success as a journey rather than a final destination.   This will then allow us to add new goals as each goal is reached.    If not, we would reach a final destination and not know what to do afterwards.

Three, we need to have success that can be shared.   We are social creatures and need others to share our joys and sorrow.    Without others to participate in our joys and sorrows, life will be very miserable.

So how do you define your success?

Success depends on each individual. We all have different goals and while one may seem successful the other may not feel successful.
