Lord of The Rings
Thorough review of the J.R.R. Tolkien classic.
Title Analysis
The title Return of the King has much to do With the book. This title shows the main conflict in the book. The Return of the king is crucial to how the war ends and how peace is restored to middle earth’s civilizations. The king has to take his place in the throne to be king of the great human civilization. Mordor the main enemy of the civilizations and is trying to kill off the last of the Human civilization. This truly inflicts how the king is returned when the ring of power is finally destroyed.
This title also explains the one of the main themes in the book. Theres more than meets the eye. The title shows that there are many different changes throughout the book and there are many different points to understand during the book. The Return of the king has a simple layout but can be confusing. Throughout the book they refer to only one man to be the King and returns to his throne but they often say they need the King to return to take his rightful place at the throne.
Theme
One of the major themes of this book is more than meets the eye. This theme shows that this book can be read many different ways and there are many different things the person may not know. During the book Golem says he can be trusted by his masters but in the end he turns on frodo and almost takes the ring. The person who holds the throne of Gondor also hides his true thought of the king returning to save the kingdom because he knows he will return but he does not admit it.
Another major theme of this book is with only peace and love the world is a better place and with hate and destruction it is worse. During the book you it explains visions of how the future of what middle earth would look like if only the dark side ruled the earth. There are also glimpses of the future where they explain how the future will be if only the good side ruled the earth. Another important thing in the book is what you read about is how the people in the book know how to end a conflict or by trying to change the outcome of the future.
Setting
The time during this book is placed between earth’s history and mythology and has no specific time. The book takes place in Middle Earth during the time of war because a hobbit had found the powerful ring of power during the first book. Now the humans are about to go to war with the orcs and men who are outlaws in middle earth and this if for the future of the world. The time period of this book is not said in the book but it quickly says it is during medieval times when swords and bows and arrows were used.
If the writer of this novel had chosen a different setting then Middle earth and the medieval times it would have greatly impacted the outcome of the war, how many people were killed and the type of equipment and technologies they used during the time of war. If the Author had chosen to write his book during the 20th century they would be using modern weapons and most likely nuclear war. But thankfully the book is during the medieval times and used swords and bows.

During the great council they decide that Frodo will take the ring and throw it into the volcanoes lava. During Frodo’s quest the humans great city Gondor is under siege. The men of Gondor are fighting for their great city against the orcs. The orc’s quest is to destroy the remaining power of the human civilization and then take over their land.
During the siege of Gondorthree brave people have another conflict to deal with. The three people have less than 24hrs to get the ghosts of murderers, former kings, and people who have ventured into the cave of ghosts. The main conflict finally ends and peace is restored as golem falls in the lava with the ring of power. Everything that the orcshave done was with waste and the humans, elves have lost many men and people can start over again.
