The Communist Manifesto

This is a short piece giving you an idea of what it is and what it stands for, it is a very influential book and I would advise people to read it or just learn about it.

The communist manifesto was written in February 1848 by a man called Karl Marx. He was born in Prussia on May 5, 1818. He was known to be an anti-Semitic. He died in London on March 14, 1883 and was buried at Highgate Cemetary. He lived in Dean Street in London.

Here are a few lines from his work;

The Communists do not form a separate party opposed to other working-class parties.

They have no interests separate and apart from those of the proletariat as a whole.

They do not set up any special principles of their own, by which to shape and mould the proletarian movement.

The Communists are distinguished from the other working-class parties by this only: 1. In the national struggles of the proletarians of the different countries, they point out and bring to the front the common interests of the entire proletariat, independently of all nationality. 2. In the various stages of development, which the struggle of the working class against the bourgeoisie has to pass through, they always and everywhere represent the interests of the movement as a whole.

The book was mainly written on the basics of communism and the whole idea. The book was said to be mainly written by Karl Marx but also assisted by Friedrich Engels. Another view on it was that it was also written by many communists who came from different countries, in London to write the book.
