Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head Lyric Has Mesmerized Me
I like this song because of the meaningful lyric.
aindrops Keep Falling on My Head lyric has Mesmerized Me
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head is a song I love because of the meaningful lyric. I started fall in love with this song since the first time I heard it in 1996, sung by Andy William. Yes, I know I was very late since this song had been written in 1969. At that time, I was not born yet.
My most favorite part of the lyric is located at the end of the song: “Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining. Because I’m free. Nothing’s worrying me.” If we have nothing to be worried about, isn’t it a true freedom that we have?
Recently I think about this song again because last Friday I watched super hero film, Spider-Man 2, in TV. The song was accentuating Peter Parker’s joyful mood after abandoning his Spider-Man identity and its responsibilities. Peter’s smile while he was walking (and what he thought about) perfectly fit with lyric of the song.

Then I learn again that this song originally was written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach for the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. And the great thing this song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The version by B. J. Thomas was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States in January 1970 for four weeks and the first #1 single of the 1970’s. Before I did not know that this favorite song of mine, with such powerful lyric, has moved many people (according Academy Award jury) in its era. Further B.J. Thomas’s version was listed at #12 on Billboard’s Greatest Songs of all time. It is great.

Here is the lyric that I love so much:
Raindrops keep falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothing seems to fit
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling
So I just did me some talking to the sun
And I said I didn’t like the way he got things done
Sleeping on the job
Those raindrops are falling on my head, they keep falling
But there’s one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won’t defeat me
It won’t be long till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Cryin’s not for me
Cause I’m never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I’m free
Nothing’s worrying me
Perhaps we need to think about our lives and set ourselves free from every trouble. Be peace with us then enjoy the rainy season with singing this song. Crying is not for us.
