The Crucible is a play written by the famous writer Arthur Miller in the early 1950s. This play is based on the Salem Witch Trials (which took place in 1692) and the events that took place during those trails. The trails were held to interrogate (prosecute) a group of 150 people who were accused of performing witchcraft in Massachusetts during the years 1692 and 1693.
