Children’s Book Review of Stone Soup: How a Stony Soup Brings a Sad Village Together
Based on popular European folk tales, "Stone Soup" is reset by author-illustrator Jon J Muth in China. Through fine words and atmospheric watercolors, the tale concerns a sad, unfriendly village which is transformed by a stony soup which three monks, initially unwelcome as guests there, set about making in order to stave off their hunger.
