People say that daughters are just like their mothers. Amy Tan states in her novel “The Joy Luck Club” that daughters are reflections of their mothers. She portrays this through the symbolism of the jade necklace and the characterization of June and Suyuan Woo. This use of literary techniques is very powerful at conveying this theme throughout the book.
